Further Marine Site Investigation Works at Penzance (December 2009)
In December 2009, two boreholes were drilled in the seabed just off the end of Lighthouse Pier, Penzance, to supplement the ground investigation data already available, and specifically to gather information about the depth and properties of the underlying rock in the area of the pier extension.
On 16th September 2009, the cabinet of Cornwall Council unanimously approved recommendations to resubmit plans for a new passenger terminal in Penzance and a combined freight and passenger vessel to run between Penzance and the Isles of Scilly.
